The second instalment of our mix series is graciously done by my dear friend Ingo the Gringo, who wrote a few words on how this mix came together:
“A few months back, while burning the midnight oil, I was completely swept off my feet listening to Late Night Tales’ After Dark. This mix by Bill Brewster effortlessly coasts through a ton of genres, perfectly bending and blending the mood every step of the way.
From sensual downtempo funk to smooth Balearic grooves and dub-laden mystique – the mix quite frankly made me want to get rid of my entire music collection and start discovering anew. Luckily, that disregard for my ‘own’ music disappeared quickly, while the eagerness for diving into new musical directions stayed.
Inspired, I set out to make a mix unlike any I have made before. It had to be diverse, exciting and captivating. I wanted it to really ride the mood of the songs. The result is a journey into diverse sounds, tied together by lots of percussion and a sense of exploration.”
